The "ANGLE," Major Deciding Factor, during PICKET'S CHARGE:   Battle of Gettysburg.

Battle of Shiloh
'April, 1862'

Once in the Union Prisoner of War camp in Illinois, called Camp Douglas, a Confederate Soldier, would face rough treatment, due to harsh Federal Union Northern prisoner of war camp conditions, resulting in countless deaths.

"During the U.S. Civil War, Northern 'Yankee' Union Prisoner of War Camps were just as harsh as Confederate Prisoner of War Camps."

"The Confederate Prison of War Camp at Andersonville, has

received overwhelmingly more attention, in present times, because of Hollywood style productions."

N.I.M. CROWN OFFICER, NIM NC Governor

{November 6, 2007}

The U.S. Civil officially began in South Carolina, at Fort Sumter, April, 1861, where the first U.S. Civil War battle was fought.

Fort Sumter in modern times

The U.S. Civil War was mostly about sovereignty of states to make legal decisions, and had least to do with Black Slavery, as slavery was in the process of being faded out gradually, due to Technology Advances, and a desire to trade with the British Empire, WITHOUT sudden painful shock,  by the time of the U.S. Civil War. [1861-1865]

British Queen Victoria

Queen Victoria's British Government had outlawed Slavery, and frowned upon doing business with nations who used slaves.

Selling Farm Products to England was essential; and, even in 1861, the "Customer is Always Right."

The invention of the steam powered tractor, 10 years before the U. S. Civil War began, was making  Slavery too Expensive, Primitive and, Absolete.

The Steam Powered Tractor, of several versions, fueled by wood or coal, with attachments, made it more economical to harvest farm produce, with the use of paid employees, than keeping slaves by the time of the U.S. Civil War.

Due to TECHNOLOGY ADVANCEMENTS alone, Slavery was on its way out, GRADUALLY, without sudden painful actions, by the time the U.S. Civil War began in 1861.

In order to win the U.S. Civil War, U.S. President Lincoln used a tactic to keep the British Empire, out of the war on the side of the Confederates, with the use of a moral issue, which would strike to the core of British Society.

This moral issue influenced British  Foreign Policy, to not enter the U.S. Civil War.

This moral issue which would keep the British out of the U.S. Civil War, on the side of the Confederate States, was the issue of ENDING SLAVERY.

Overwhelmingly, most Soldiers who fought for the Confederates, during the U.S. Civil War, did not fight this war, to keep the institution of Black Slavery alive.

Overwhelmingly, most Soldiers, Marines, and Sailors, who fought for the Northern Union States, during the U.S. Civil War, did not fight this war, for reasons of freeing Black Slaves.

After the September, 1862, with a clear Union victory, at Antietam, U.S. President Lincoln, Freed the Black Slaves, throughout ALL Union States, with the knowledge of due to this victory, there would be more than enough resources, to crush any Northern Union Federal State which would attempt to leave the war at this point, due to the Ending of Slavery issue.

It was due to this Armed Military Pressure Threat, after U.S. President Lincoln announced the intention to Free Black Slaves backed by armed threats throughout ALL Northern States, most Union States, stayed in the in the war, which was intended ORIGINALLY INTENDED to be a war to save the Union.

Following the Battle of Antietam, September, 1862, Lincoln had the troops and resources to crush any Northern State, which wish to pull out of the war, due to the ending of Black Slavery issue.

Lincoln's primary goal was to halt British Assistance to the Confederates, due the Black Slavery issue.

After July 4, 1863, with Union Northern Federal victories at both Gettysburg and Vicksburg, Lincoln had the clear strength to end by law, Black Slavery, without military argument, in ALL CONFEDERATE states, with the clear goal of disrupting the Southern Confederate economy by encouraging Black Slave Disruptions, and further encouraging the British to stay out of the U.S. Civil War.

Northern Union Federal Soldiers, after fighting at Gettysburg July 1-3, 1863, had to be pulled out of Gettysburg, instead of following retreating Confederate Forces back into Virginia, and were instead, sent to New York City, to crush the WORST, LARGEST Anti-War Riot in the entire  U.S. History, because local authorities could not stand up to local New York Irish Gangs who were conducting the 1863 New York City Riots.

Rioters Believed the War was for the Rich !!

In addition to the Rich, the 1863 New York City Anti-War Rioters, Blamed the Blacks for the War, resulting in LYNCHING every Black the New York City Rioters could get their hands on.

New York City
Anti-War Riots 1863

The 1863 New York City Anti-War Rioters refused to fight a war to end Black Slavery in America.

April, 1865, Confederate General Robert E. Lee, saw the U.S. Civil War, as needless bloodshed, without obtaining clear military objectives, due to the lack of supplies, and without direct British Military support, the Confederates needed.

One of the reasons these needed military supplies, and direct military assistance did not come from the British Empire was due to the Black Slavery issue.

Robert E. Lee, could have continued an unconventional war, which could have continued well into the 20th Century, resulting in the deaths of countless thousands of American citizens, well beyond April, 1865, but "as a Christian,"  General Lee, decided to halt the bloodiest page in U.S. History.

BLACK Slavery would have ended on a more gradual kinder, less violent chaotic note, without Lincoln's aggressive legislation, due to coming technology, and a desire to trade with the British Empire.

In any event, as the U.S. President, at the time of the U.S. Civil War, it was Lincoln's duty to prevent the rebelling states from receiving outside assistance from Europe, in order to minimize the resistance of the Confederate military.

During the U.S. Presidential Election of 1860, Abraham Lincoln, ran on a ticket, to HALT SLAVERY, INTO NEW COMING U.S. STATES, ONLY, as the United States expanded coast to coast; with the obvious understanding, of coming technology would make BLACK Slavery obsolete, primitive, and less economical, for a modern expanding industrialized American  nation, causing a gradual fall of U.S. Slavery.

NEVER did Lincoln mention a desire to end slavery by Federal Law, where slavery already existed, until after key military victories in 1862 and 1863, when the resources were available to crush objection, and when the Slavery issue made it possible as a means to keep Europeans out of the U.S. Civil War.

The reduction of assistance going to the rebelling Confederate States, was done through naval blockade, and creating a moral issue to end slavery as a war aim, in a situation, where the institution of slavery would have ended in America without a Civil War.

1867 Steam Powered Tractor

By 1867, the Californian Philander Standish Company, built the "Mayflower" Steam Powered Tractor, among many other Steam Powered farm machines, were rushed into production, and reached American markets.

Steam Powered Farm Machines, would have caused Black Slavery to fall through Faster, more Economical Farm Production by the 1870's.

Steam Powered Farm Machines by the 1870's were more profitable than keeping Black Slaves on U.S. Plantations and U.S. Farms.

Due to economics ALONE, with the desire to keep good trade relations with England, without the interruption of the the U.S. Civil War, [1861--1865], the large U.S. Southern Confederate plantation owners, would have began, obviously, gradually, more kindly, FAZING OUT the Institution of Black African Slavery, and replacing their plantation Black African Slaves with paid employees, and modern Steam Powered Machines by the 1870's.

HERE WAS THE MATH Of 1860's--1870's U.S. Economics

=Steam Farm Machines would NOT talk back.  Black Slaves Did Talk Back.

=Steam Farm Machines did not cost much to fuel with wood or coal.

=Steam Farm Machines did not get sick, nor shirk from work, Black Slaves did.

=Steam Farm Machines did the work of several Black Slaves at less cost.

The institution of U.S. Black African "Negro" Slavery, would have ended in the United States during the 1870's, without the U.S. Civil War, because pure economics would have controlled the market.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

Following the ending of Slavery by Federal Law, in 1862, after the Battle of Antietam, in REBELLING States, owned by Rebelling persons ONLY, Black slave escapes, Black slave escape attempts, Black slave rebellions, or attempted Black slave rebellions, WERE VERY FEW, far between, seldom taking place, throughout the rest of U.S. Civil War, in spite of the fact, overwhelmingly most of White Male Population in the Southern Confederate States, was away from their homes, {towns of residence}, fighting the U.S. Civil War, in distant locations.

This draws a question of how cruel slavery actually was, IN REALITY, by the standards most FREE PERSONS lived under during the 1860's, where when faced with plenty of opportunities to rebel or escape, very few Black slaves attempted to escape, nor attempted to rebel, even when the U.S. Civil War was not going well for the Confederate states, and very few Southern White Males were around to guard southern Black slave populations.

Could there have been a bond of loyalty between most Black Slaves and their Confederate owners?

Would have this bond of loyalty, prevented most Black slave attempted escapes, and attempted Black slave rebellions, in the Confederate south, during the U.S. Civil War ?

Could the institution of Slavery in the Confederate States, not have been as cruel, as some historians claimed, based on the standards MOST FREE PERSONS were living under during the 1860's ?

N.I.M. INTERNATIONAL will investigate these questions further.

Words of wisdom from Lincoln

"
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves
. "
--Abraham Lincoln
